Ms. Facios prior employment experience includes working in a general administrative capacity and sales and marketing. She has worked for several small to large businesses and non profit organizations including the Downy Chamber of Commerce located in Southern California. The Chamber is an organization that serves and promotes business in the City of Downey and was rated in the top 25% by California Business Magazine in the "100 Best Cities to Do Business in California." Ms. Facio was exposed to working with over 2,700 retail, service, and manufacturing companies. While at the Chamber, Ms. Facio assisted in uniting professional people, organizations, and firms into a central agency to help improve business while strengthening the community.
In 2006 and 2007, Ms. Facio attended the Southern California Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives Round Table. The SCACCE is an organization that is dedicated to the education and advancement of organizational management professionals. Ms. Facio has been involved with this organization and is an active member.
In December 2007, Ms. Facio was inducted as a new member of the Soroptimist International Organization in the City of Downey Chapter. The Soroptimist International is a worldwide organization for women in various professions working through service projects to advance human rights and the status of women.
Ms. Facio has been involved in several different charities and fundraising events in her community. She has participated in the in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life Walk in 2006. Relay For Life is an overnight event designed to raise money for research and other charity programs for the American Cancer Society. During this event, Ms. Facio took turns by walking or running laps to raise money.
In addition, Ms. Facio has worked on various committees in the City of Downey. Ms. Facio was involved with the Ambassadors. The Ambassadors invite new members to attend events, serve as greeters at mixers, and attend grand openings. Ms. Facio was involved with the Legislative Advocacy Group who makes recommendations regarding County, State, and Federal legislation affecting business; communicates with legislators; and informs their members of legislative issues of interest. Ms. Facio was involved with City Affairs who reviews areas of concern to the Chamber and its members, develops and recommends policies to the Board of Directors, and provides a forum for comprehensive discussion of major subjects relative to development and redevelopment in the city. Ms. Facio participated in raising money for scholarships at Downey High School through the Concert and Golf Committees who plans and implements the annual city concerts and golf tournaments. Ms. Facio was also involved with the Membership Events Committee that reviews all membership dues, makes recommendations for methods to increase membership revenues; and plans and assists with new member orientations and membership luncheons such as the Rise N Shine Networking Breakfast events.
