Juan Cobian, Manager Corporate Investigations
CURRICULUM VITAE
Juan Cobian attended California State University, Fullerton. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in
Business Administration, with an emphasis in Finance and was inducted into the university’s Finance Association,
providing hands-on interaction with professionals already working in the field of finance.
Mr. Cobian is a current member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) and currently serves
as Secretary of the Orange County Chapter of ASIS (American Society for Industrial Security), an
organization promoting the highest level of excellence in the fields of investigations and security. Mr. Cobian
previously served as the treasurer for the Orange County Chapter of ASIS.
PROFESSIONAL HISTORY
Mr. Cobian has more than six years experience conducting employment-related investigations with a wide
range of disciplines including successfully supervising internal theft, embezzlement and fraud cases for
employers, and has managed Surveillance, Background Investigations and Undercover Investigations. His
specialty is solving workplace cases involving complex accounting and embezzlement issues.
Mr. Cobian currently oversees Diversified Risk Management’s Corporate Investigations division, reporting to
the Managing Partner, George Ramos.
Mr. Cobian also conducts many specialized investigations, including investigations related to sexual
harassment, workplace violence, illegal drugs in the workplace and property crimes. Mr. Cobian has also
conducted hundreds of specialized investigative interviews, with a very high rate of success.
Mr. Cobian has brought an extremely high percentage of his cases to successful conclusions, many of which
resulted in large recoveries for his corporate clients, and including a large number of successful criminal
prosecutions working in conjunction with various law enforcement agencies.
Mr. Cobian also has extensive experience aiding clients and their legal counsel in preparing cases for
litigation and has conducted investigations in seven U.S. states and in Mexico.
