While employed at Diversified Risk Management, Inc., Mr. Desch has been assigned to and also supervised both mobile and stationary covert surveillance teams assigned to investigate numerous cases involving violence in the workplace, theft of company assets and fraud. Recently, Mr. Desch was the lead investigator in a case involving over $100,000.00 in stolen property. In the course of the investigation, Mr. Desch assisted in the apprehension of three theft suspects and the felony conviction of one of the perpetrators.
Michael Desch has attended Daytona Beach Community College, located in Daytona Beach, Florida, studying at the Corrections Academy. In addition, Mr. Desch attended and completed coursework at Seminole Community College, located in Sanford, Florida. While attending Seminole, Mr. Desch attended the Law Enforcement cross-over Academy.
Mr. Desch has served as a Police Officer for the Bunnell Police Department located in Bunnell, Florida. As a Police Officer, Mr. Desch was responsible for responding to various dispatched calls as well as 90% of calls throughout the Federal housing projects within the Bunnell city limits. The City of Bunnell recognized Officer Desch’s efforts and honored him with the Meritorious Service - Attention to Duty Award and Most Improved Officer - Dedication to Duty Award.
In addition, Mr. Desch has served as a Police Officer for the North Palm Beach Police Department, located in Palm Beach, Florida. In that capacity, Mr. Desch was responsible for responding to various dispatch calls and protecting and serving the Palm Beach community as well as enforcing local and state laws. In addition, Mr. Desch operated a traffic motorcycle unit responding to all traffic crashes as well as monitoring traffic speeds and enforcing the traffic laws throughout the city.
Mr. Desch has worked in the fields of law enforcement and corrections for approximately six years.
Professional History
Prior to joining Diversified Risk Management, Inc., Mr. Desch attended and completed training through the Correctional Officer Training Academy (COTA) located in Tucson, Arizona, widely considered to be one of the top corrections training facilities in the country. Mr. Desch was then employed as a Corrections Officer by Tomoka State Penitentiary, located in Daytona Beach, Florida. As a Corrections Officer, Mr. Desch was responsible for the safety and security of the institutions visiting public, correctional personnel and inmates. In addition, Mr. Desch worked in the open yards, closed custody and maximum security units at Tomoka State Penitentiary.
