Michele Cordova, appointed to EmployersChoiceOnline.com, a division of Diversified Risk Management, Inc. (DRM) as Director of Business Development.
Ms. Cordova attended Mt. San Antonio College, located in Walnut, California, where she studied Psychology and Physical Therapy. While at Mt. San Antonio College, Ms. Cordova obtained a certificate as a Physical Therapy Aide.
Ms. Cordova is responsible for educating new clients and prospective clients on employment screening, from state and federal laws to industry standards. She serves as an in-house expert on the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), as well as state and federal guidelines that regulate consumer reporting agencies (CRA).
Ms. Cordova is tasked with alerting clients to any changes in state and federal laws, with respect to conducting employment background checks and drug screening. This ensures that DRM’s clients are compliant with all necessary laws, thereby protecting their organization from potential litigation and liability. Prior to joining DRM, Ms. Cordova worked as an educator and as a sales manager.
PROFESSIONAL HISTORY:
Ms. Cordova has extensive experience in conducting corporate investigations and has worked on hundreds of cases within the investigative research field. She has performed and taught analytical research methodology at DRM, training new researchers to the high standards of comprehensive employment background investigations our client’s expect. Ms. Cordova has also managed and coordinated thousands of pre-employment background investigations.
Ms. Cordova is a member of several business-growth oriented organizations, including the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, the City of Industry Chamber of Commerce, the Century City Chamber of Commerce, the Downey Chamber of Commerce and the Vernon Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Cordova actively pursues the development of new business by being a regular speaker at Chamber of Commerce functions, educating attendees on the benefits of employment screening and illuminating the importance of drug screening.
Ms. Cordova remains an active member of Human Resources Steering Committee for the Vernon Chamber of Commerce, where she works to identify the needs of the business community, advocate programs that meet those needs, and help locate subject matter experts to lead bi-monthly HR Roundtable Sessions.
In addition, Ms. Cordova regularly contributes to DRM’s newsletter, THE POWER OF INTELLIGENT INFORMATION writing on such topics as Federal Compliance and workplace investigations. Ms. Cordova also contributes to the EmployersChoiceOnline.com website, the employment background screening and drug testing division of Diversified Risk Management, Inc.
