Rory Montez attended California State University Long Beach, located in Long Beach, California, completing a
Bachelor of Arts Degree in Comparative Literature with an emphasis on World Literature. As a freshman, Mr. Montez
participated in the Learning Alliance program, an academic community that highlighted and recognized the strong
academic aptitude of its freshman members.
While attending California State University Long Beach, Mr. Montez was on the Dean's List for three years, studied
criminal justice and psychology, and was an active member of the campus community. In addition, Mr. Montez worked
on campus at the Learning Assistance Center, Cal State Long Beach’s foremost tutoring center. There he tutored a large,
diverse group of English Second Language (ESL) students on the basics of college level English grammar and writing.
Prior to his addition at Diversified Risk Management, Inc., Mr. Montez worked in the Library & Learning Resource
Center (LLRC) at Cypress Community College, located in Cypress, California. At Cypress College, Mr. Montez
regularly tutored, prepared student lessons, and frequently organized workshops for students at all levels of English
proficiency. Mr. Montez was also responsible for creating campus awareness of the tutorial services available,
including visiting classrooms and campus faculty members.
Professional History
Previously, Mr. Montez was employed by the Boys and Girls Club of Whittier. At the Boys and Girls Club of Whittier,
Mr. Montez held the position of Director for the Leaders in Training (LIT) program. In that capacity, Mr. Montez was
exclusively responsible for running a leadership and community service program for at-risk area teens. Among his
duties were developing and implementing an effective teen tutoring curriculum as well as improving the existing
mentoring program. Also, Mr. Montez organized volunteer charity events, substance abuse awareness workshops,
created itineraries for college tours and worked in conjunction with Toastmasters International, a nonprofit educational
organization to create an in-house teen program which focused on improving communication, public speaking and
leadership skills.
Although relatively new to the world of Private Investigation, Mr. Montez has quickly obtained valuable experience
working in the field of private investigations in a research analysis capacity.
